The drive from Highcliffe
Highcliffe is about half an hour away. Take the A35 past Christchurch, join the A338 Wessex Way towards Bournemouth and leave for Talbot Woods; the whole route is dual carriageway apart from the first and last few minutes, so it is a predictable drive.
Highcliffe patients are often retired, active and keen to stay that way: walkers who cover the Castle grounds and Steamer Point daily, golfers, and people who travel to see family. Arthritic hips and knees, and the lower backs that compensate for them, are the common story, and care plans are spaced to suit the distance.
A trip this length deserves a guaranteed space at the end of it, which the clinic courtyard provides free. Saturday appointments are the usual pick for Highcliffe, when the Wessex Way is quiet in both directions.
Highcliffe patients frequently pair an appointment with a trip to see family in Bournemouth or a visit to the Castle Lane shops, so we are happy to book a mid-morning slot that leaves the rest of the day free. The return journey along the Wessex Way is at its quietest before midday.
Elliot has a warm approach and geniune passion for what he does. I can't thank him enough for helping me feel better and more upright. I found the advice also invaluable to help me lead an injury free life. 💫 can’t recommend highly enough.
