Chiropractic care for desk workers
Hours at a laptop, a phone wedged under the ear and a chair that was never quite right: desk work builds tension in the neck and shoulders that turns into headaches, a stiff upper back and posture you can feel by Friday.
Sound familiar?
Many of our patients work at a screen all day, in offices around Bournemouth and Poole or at home. The complaints are consistent: neck and shoulder tension, tension headaches, a rounded upper back and lower back pain from sitting. Several describe getting regular headaches from tension in the shoulders, neck and back that are now rare, or a visible change in posture and shoulder position.
Because the cause is daily, the plan looks at the day as well as the spine: how your desk is set up, how often you move, and what you can do between visits to stop the tension building back up.
How the New Patient Consultation works for desk workers
Two visits: a thorough first-visit examination, then a report of findings with your care plan and, if you are happy to proceed, your first adjustment.
Visit one: posture, movement and the tests
Alongside your health history and a neurological and orthopaedic examination, the first visit includes digital posture analysis, which shows precisely how your head, shoulders and spine are sitting, plus gait, balance and ribcage-expansion tests. Desk workers are often surprised by what the posture scan shows.
Visit two: your findings and a plan for the working week
At the report of findings Elliot explains what he found, shares your care plan and covers what you can do at your desk to support it. Evening appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays mean you can come straight from work. If you are happy with everything, your first adjustment follows.

In their words

I would highly recommend treatment from Elliot. I’m in in town and found him to be my regular chiropractor. I regularly get neck and shoulder tension from computer work and my 1 leg is slightly shorter than the other. Through all this I need regular adjustments to maintain my body balance.
