In from Verwood through Ferndown
From the Hub or the heathland side of Verwood, the B3081 and then the A348 bring you through Ferndown to Kinson, where Wimborne Road runs down to Winton and across into Talbot Woods. Twenty-five to thirty minutes is usual, with Moors Valley Country Park traffic the only thing to watch on a summer weekend.
Verwood patients are often families who moved out for the schools and the space, with parents commuting to Bournemouth or Poole and children in the local clubs, alongside active retirees who cycle the Castleman Trailway and walk the heath. We see back and neck pain from long commutes and sports injuries from the junior football and rugby.
Evening appointments on Tuesday and Thursday catch the commuters on the way home, and the free courtyard parking removes the last worry from a journey this long.
The B3081 through Three Legged Cross can be slow behind farm traffic, so patients who have an early appointment often take the A31 to Ferndown instead. Once at Kinson the run down Wimborne Road into Winton is the same whichever way you came.
