From Wimborne Minster to the clinic
Wimborne to Talbot Woods is about twenty minutes: the A349 or the B3073 towards Bournemouth to Bear Cross, then Wimborne Road through Kinson and Winton, turning west into Talbot Woods near the end. Market days add a few minutes getting out of town, so allow for it on a Friday or Saturday morning.
Wimborne patients include people who work in the town's independent shops and the professional practices around the Square, walkers and cyclists who use the Kingston Lacy estate and the Stour Valley Way, and families from the Leigh Park side. Long drives on the county roads produce a steady run of neck and lower back complaints.
Most Wimborne patients prefer a Saturday morning or a mid-morning weekday slot, and the free parking at the clinic is welcome after a journey that starts by escaping Wimborne's own car parks.
Patients from the villages beyond Wimborne, around Colehill and Pamphill, add five minutes to the run and often make a morning of it in Winton afterwards. If you come by bus, the Wimborne to Bournemouth services along Wimborne Road stop within sight of Alma Road.
I have been struggling for the last 10 years with hip and knee arthritis. It got so debilitating that I would avoid taking stairs, walking uphill and really struggled with simple tasks like putting shoes on. After a couple of months of care with Elliot, I am now able to do all of these things again with ease and confidence. The daily pains are much more manageable which is making me enjoy my walking again. I have even now had the confidence to have a dog to help keep my active, as before I worried I wouldn’t be able to walk it everyday. Elliot is very professional and goes beyond expectations. I highly recommend!
